First Port..St. Barths Feb. 17, 2011

I learned early in our voyage that when you are in an inside stateroom you can sleep the day away and not even know it.  It took two days of this before I started leaving the room service card on the door to have breakfast delivered early so we would be woke up.  Our first port and I'm so excited I was almost first in line to get off the ship.  The weather had finally warmed up and we were starting to really enjoy ourself.   We had to tender to the island of St. Barths or St. Bartholomews so we had to wait in line to catch the little boats to the island.  I have always been so envious of parts of the world with warm climates.  I have a love of plants that would make me broke in no time and to be able to see these things I grow in pots and have to bring inside in the winter, growing outside, huge trees...

Waiting to tender to the island.

The tiered city of St.Barths was so beautiful and really clean.  We never did make it to the beach that day.
After walking all over looking for a post office.
It was my intentions to buy and mail a post card at every port, after walking all over the island looking for a post office David said we would buy post cards but he wasn't mailing any more.  The post cards cost about $1 each but it cost me about $2 each to mail them, AND they had to go to France before they went to the US.  We were gone two weeks and still got home before the first post card.
